सम्पीडित प्राकृतिक गैस | Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)

सम्पीडित प्राकृतिक गैस (CNG) एक उच्च कोटि का ईंधन है। इसे केवल 'प्राकृतिक गैस' भी कहा जाता है। इसे तेलकूपों से प्राप्त किया जाता है। कुछ तेलकूप ऐसे भी होते हैं, जिनसे केवल प्राकृतिक गैस ही प्राप्त की जा सकती है।

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is a high quality fuel. It is also called simply 'natural gas'. It is obtained from oil wells. There are some oil wells from which only natural gas can be obtained.

प्राकृतिक गैस का प्रमुख संगठक 'मेथेन' है। इसका वायु में दहन होने पर अत्यधिक ऊष्मा उत्पन्न होती है। अतः इसका प्रयोग घरेलू और औद्योगिक ईंधन के रूप में किया जाता है। वाहनों के लिए भी यह एक वैकल्पिक ईंधन है।

The major constituent of natural gas is 'methane'. When it is combusted in air, excessive heat is generated. Hence it is used as domestic and industrial fuel. It is also an alternative fuel for vehicles.

प्राकृतिक गैस, हाइड्रोजन गैस का एक अच्छा स्रोत है। प्राकृतिक गैस से हाइड्रोजन गैस प्राप्त की जाती है। इस प्रक्रिया से प्राप्त हाइड्रोजन का प्रयोग अमोनिया संश्लेषण और उर्वरकों के उत्पादन के लिए किया जाता है।

Natural gas is a good source of hydrogen gas. Hydrogen gas is obtained from natural gas. The hydrogen obtained from this process is used for ammonia synthesis and for the production of fertilizers.
