(Pigment)

The pigments used in coloring matter are called 'pigments'. The paint applied on the doors, windows, etc. of the house is an example of a pigment. The colors used in painting are also pigments.

(Primary Color Of Pigment)

A special method is used to produce different colors of pigment. This method requires the primary colors of the pigment. The primary colors of a pigment are different from the primary colors of light. The number of these colors is three. These colors are as follows–
1. Magenta
2. Yellow
3. Peacock Colour.
Commonly these colors are called red, yellow and blue.
Magenta (red + blue) = Red color
Yellow (Red + Green) = Yellow color
Saiyan Peacock Colour (blue + green) = Blue color.

| What Are Complementary Colours?

Pigments of yellow and blue colors are mixed to make green pigment. According to the concept of colors of light, yellow and blue are complementary colors to each other. These two colors combine to form white light. Therefore, a special method is used to produce the colors of the pigments.

Primary Colours And Composite Colours Of Light

Blue pigment converts light into violet, blue and green. In addition it absorbs yellow and red light. Yellow pigment converts red, green and yellow light. In addition it absorbs blue and violet light. Thus it is clear that the mixture of both the pigments changes only green colour. Hence blue and yellow pigments combine to form green pigment.
