एक्वाकल्चर (जलीय जीव पालन) एवं इनके उपयोग | Aquaculture and their Uses

एक्वाकल्चर- जलीय जीव के पालन को एक्वाकल्चर कहा जाता है। इसके अंतर्गत प्रमुख जलीय जीव मछली, जलीय पादप व क्रस्टेशिया जलीय जीव, मोलस्का आदि आते हैं। इनके पालन की मुख्य आवश्यकता में इनकी उत्पादकता बढ़ाना, इनका भोजन व सुरक्षा आदि आते हैं। समुद्री वातावरण में एक्वाकल्चर को 'मेरीकल्चर' कहा जाता है। एक्वाकल्चर जलीय जीवों को लगातार भोजन और शिकारों से सुरक्षा प्रदान करता है। एक्वाकल्चर के अंतर्गत मत्स्य पालन, शैवाल पालन और सजावट हेतु उपयोगी जलीय जंतुओं एवं पादपों का पालन किया जाता है। यह जलीय जीव हमारे भोजन में प्रोटीन का समृद्ध स्रोत होते हैं।

Aquaculture- The rearing of aquatic organisms is called aquaculture. Under this, major aquatic organisms fish, aquatic plants and crustacea aquatic organisms, mollusca etc. The main requirement of their rearing comes in increasing their productivity, their food and security etc. Aquaculture in the marine environment is called 'mariculture'. Aquaculture provides constant food and protection to aquatic organisms from predators. Aquaculture involves rearing of aquatic animals and plants useful for fisheries, algae rearing and decoration. These aquatic creatures are a rich source of protein in our diet.

एक्वाकल्चर के उपयोग निम्नलिखित हैं-
1. संसार के बिलियनों लोग भोज्य पदार्थों में प्रोटीन स्रोत के लिए मछलियों पर निर्भर हैं।
2. एक्वाकल्चर का व्यवसायिक स्तर पर महत्व है। संसार के अधिकांश लोग मछली एवं अन्य समुद्री जीवों का भोजन हेतु क्रय करते हैं।
3. एक्वा कल्चर से कृषि अनुपयोगी भूमि का सदुपयोग हो जाता है।
4. मछली का तेल इकोसापेन्टेनॉइक अम्ल, ओमेगा-3 फैटी अम्ल और DNA का प्रमुख स्रोत है।
5. मछली के तेल और माँस से बचे तरल का प्रयोग उर्वरक के रूप में भी किया जा सकता है।
6. सितारा मछली, दरियाई घोड़ा, समुद्री अर्चिन और समुद्री खीरे पारंपरिक चीनी औषधि के रूप में प्रयोग किए जाते हैं।
7. केल्प का प्रयोग साबुन और काँच निर्माण में उर्वरक के रूप में किया जाता है। इसके अतिरिक्त यह आयोडीन का भी अच्छा स्त्रोत है।

The uses of aquaculture are as follows-
1. Billions of people in the world depend on fish for a source of protein in food.
2. Aquaculture has importance at the commercial level. Most of the people of the world buy fish and other sea creatures for food.
3. Aquaculture makes good use of agriculturally unusable land.
4. Fish oil is a major source of eicosapentaenoic acid, omega-3 fatty acids and DNA.
5. Fish oil and meat residue can also be used as fertilizer.
6. starfish, hippopotamus, sea urchin and sea cucumber are used as traditional Chinese medicine.
7. Kelp is used as a fertilizer in soap and glass manufacturing. Apart from this it is also a good source of Iodine.
