धोने के सोडा एवं उसका निर्माण (Washing soda and its manufacture)

धोने का सोडा एक क्षारकीय लवण है। यह कई औद्योगिक प्रक्रियाओं के लिए उपयोगी रसायन है। इसका रासायनिक सूत्र Na2CO3.10H2O है। धोने के सोडे को सोडियम क्लोराइड से प्राप्त किया जाता है। जब बेकिंग सोडे को गर्म किया जाता है, तो सोडियम कार्बोनेट प्राप्त होता है। इससे संबंधित रासायनिक अभिक्रिया निम्नलिखित है–
2NaHCO3 + ऊष्मा → Na2CO3 + H2O + CO2
इस रासायनिक अभिक्रिया से जुड़े महत्वपूर्ण रासायनिक सूत्र निम्नलिखित हैं–
1. सोडियम कार्बोनेट– Na2CO3
2. सोडियम हाइड्रोजन कार्बोनेट (बेकिंग सोडा)– NaHCO3
इसके बाद सोडियम कार्बोनेट के पुनः क्रिस्टलीकरण से धोने का सोडा प्राप्त होता है। इससे संबंधित रासायनिक अभिक्रिया निम्नलिखित है–
Na2CO3 + 10H2O → Na2CO3.10H2O

Washing soda is a basic salt. It is a useful chemical for many industrial processes. Its chemical formula is Na2CO3.10H2O. Washing soda is obtained from sodium chloride. When baking soda is heated, sodium carbonate is obtained. Following is the chemical reaction related to it–
2NaHCO3 + heat → Na2CO3 + H2O + CO2
Following are the important chemical formulas associated with this chemical reaction–
1. Sodium Carbonate– Na2CO3
2. Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate (Baking Soda)– NaHCO3
Thereafter, by re-crystallization of sodium carbonate, washing soda is obtained. Following is the chemical reaction related to it–
Na2CO3 + 10H2O → Na2CO3.10H2O

धोने के सोडे के उपयोग (Uses of washing soda)

धोने के सोडे की महत्वपूर्ण दैनिक उपयोग निम्नलिखित हैं–
1. इसका प्रयोग काँच, साबुन और कागज़ उद्योगों में किया जाता है।
2. इसका प्रयोग विभिन्न सोडियम यौगिक जैसे बोरेक्स के उत्पादन में किया जाता है।
3. जल की स्थायी कठोरता को दूर करने के लिए धोने के सोडे का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
4. सोडियम कार्बोनेट का प्रयोग घरों की साफ-सफाई के लिए भी किया जाता है।

The following are the important daily uses of washing soda–
1. It is used in glass, soap and paper industries.
2. It is used in the production of various sodium compounds like borax.
3. Washing soda is used to remove permanent hardness of water.
4. Sodium carbonate is also used for cleaning homes.
